    Alchemist tunic dress

Posted by Lizabeth on Jan 8th 2025

I’m extremely disappointed after washing my tunic dress. I have not worn it yet. I washed it first because I realized that the dyes might rub off on my skin. The dark green dye ran in the wash and all of the pretty red and yellows are now completely dull so that the tunic dress is just completely dark . I thought it was so cheerful before with the dark background and the yellows and the burgundies, but now they can hardly be seen because of the green dye that ran. I’m not sure if I even want to wear this now because of its darkness. I’ll take another look when it’s completely dry. I’m hoping there’s a possibility that maybe some of the excess dye will wash out in the next wash but I really doubt that it will become bright and cheerful again. For anyone else who chooses to buy this garment, I strongly suggest that you soak it overnight in cold salted water to try to fix the dye before you wash it. I wish I had done that first. Even when I took it out of the washer, the green dye got all over my fingertips and it took a while to wash it off.
